In the recent years we have been witnessing a change in Europe's political spectrum. Phenomena such as immigration, globalization or the current crisis triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic provided the right-wing parties and movements with the perfect environment for their own radical narratives. While the far-right positions are gaining more and more political territory, the current European democracies are under pressure, together with common values such as diversity, equality and human rights. Europe is becoming a divided continent and it makes us question the future of it.
❓❓ But how much do we know about the right-wing parties and movements across Europe? Are we aware of their growing influence in our own countries? Is it a new phenomenon and do we know its causes? Is Europe going in the “right” direction? ❓❓
We want to hear the opinion of young people 🎙 and therefore we are organising the first European Café of this year, as part of the Shaping the Future of Europe Initiative of the DO ONE BRAVE THING project!
👉 To join the first European Café and learn more about it, please register here: https://forms.gle/HipMLNGRKiwhUxpNA, until Thursday, January 14, 16:00 CET!
🔷 What is the European Café?
This is an event where the participants have the opportunity to discuss a relevant topic about the present and future of Europe, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
A speaker will first introduce the selected topic, followed by an engaging debate where anyone participating can share their opinion and discuss certain controversies or recommendations, based on the presentation made or external resources.
The purpose of the event is to bring together young people with different backgrounds and opinions, passionate about the giving topic, about the issues concerning the future of Europe.
🔴 The first edition will focus on the rise of far-right parties and movements in Europe and what young people think about it, about the situation across the continent and in their own countries.
If you are passionate about the subject, then join us online, next Saturday, at 17:00 CET. You do not need to have a lot of knowledge about it, just join us, attend the presentation and let us know what you think during an engaging discussion!
To learn more about the event 💬 and how to access it, don't forget to register here: https://forms.gle/HipMLNGRKiwhUxpNA, until Thursday, January 14, 16:00 CET! See you next on January 16!
The language of the event will be English.
🔷 The event is organised by the DO ONE BRAVE THING project, as part of The Shaping the Future of Europe Initiative which aims to bring together European youth, youth organisations and CSOs addressing polarisation, radicalisation, youth civic engagement and participation.
